I just posted a pic of the contents of my Indian-influenced hamper. I’ve already admitted to you bloggers that I’m a new learner in the field of blogging, soon to graduate to proper training wheels.
So, I’ll leave that pic there for the time being and go on here to chat about the hamper.
These are for those of us who perhaps have not had the interest or maybe the courage to venture into the interesting realm of the sub-continent of India. We know we like Indian food, as long as someone else slaves over the task of finding the right ingredients, roasting the spices, slicing the herbs, grinding the lot into a paste, add the main ingredients and finish it all off on a plate that shouts that it’s from Kashmir, Kerala, the Malabar Coast or somewhere exotic.
In these hampers, all that cumbersome stuff has been done for you. The pastes and mixes in my hamper are guaranteed easy, and all that’s required to complete the most perfect and authentic of Indian dishes is the meat or vegetable.
Of COURSE, there are lots of Aussies who now do cook Indian and South East Asian food, and they too will derive benefit from these hampers. Each hamper comes with, not only all the pastes and mixes you’ll need to put together ten fantastic meals, but a 60-page “cooklet-booklet” that is chock-full of hints and pointers that help you use the hamper’s contents – hints from a SERIOUSLY LAZY COOK! — ME!!
It’s fun: it’s educative. If all you want to do is impress a chick or bloke you’ve invited to dinner (with your culinary artisanship), this does the trick. If you want to impress yourself by venturing into an area you’ve always wanted to go but too confused to do it, this does the trick. If you want to start a self-developing mini-career within the space of your own kitchen and become your own legend, this does the trick. If you are already versed in the arts of Indian cooking, you might get a kick out of the story of a fellow who has spent 50 years looking at and finding ways to make the apparently complex, SERIOUSLY EASY!
If you live in Australia, make a date with yourself (or somebody else) and use what’s in these hampers to give you a heap of FUN and satisfaction.

Hey, nice work!!! I have tried one of these hampers, and must say, better than the real thing. It’s good to not have to spend half a day shopping for the various ingredients, then the other half of the day cooking the damn thing!
Fantastic for those of us who work full-time, but still need to cook some yummy food!
I thoroughly recommend the hamper – or three!
